How receipts are valued, and depeg flags

Every transfer gets a US dollar value at the block time, with its evidence. A price more than 0.5% from par raises a flag.

Updated

Every transfer Gladpaid records carries a US dollar value at the time of the block that confirmed it, together with the evidence: the source, the observed price, and the policy that was applied.

The default policy

  • US dollar stablecoins (USDC, USDT, PYUSD, USDG) are valued at $1.00 per unit by default.
  • Alongside that, Gladpaid records the observed market price at the block time from CoinGecko, checked against Chainlink's on-chain price feed.
  • EURC is valued using the European Central Bank's euro reference rate for the date.

Price timing is part of your treatment policy. The default is the block timestamp; valuing at the day's close is available as a documented election. See Treatment policy.

Depeg flags

If the observed market price differs from $1.00 by more than 0.5% at the block time, the transfer is flagged as a depeg event and goes to the queue. It is not posted at par silently.

You seeMeaning
Par $1.00 · observed $0.9998Within threshold. Valued at par, evidence stored.
Depeg flag · observed $0.9920Outside threshold. Your policy decides how the difference is recorded.

How a depeg is recorded depends on the classification your accountant chose, because the standards treat price moves differently for each model. The flag shows the entry your policy would produce, with its citation, and you confirm it.

The evidence for every value is included in the close pack, so a reviewer can see where each number came from.
