Your treatment policy

Books basis, classification, fees, settlement differences and price timing: set once, versioned, and chosen by your accountant.

Updated

How a stablecoin receipt is recorded is an accounting decision, and the guidance is not settled for every case. Gladpaid does not pick a default for you. It presents the options with their citations, records the choice your accountant makes, and applies it consistently to every transfer.

The five questions

  1. 01

    Books basis

GAAP accrual, cash basis or tax basis. Many small businesses are not on GAAP, so this comes first and shapes the rest.

  2. 02

    Classification

How the stablecoins held are classified. Each option is shown with what it means, the entries it produces, its citation, and whether the guidance is settled or unsettled.

  3. 03

    Fees

Which accounts network and exchange fees post to, and whether they are netted.

  4. 04

    Settlement differences

Which account takes short payments, rounding and small depeg differences, and the materiality threshold.

  5. 05

    Price timing

Block timestamp by default, or day close as a documented election.

What waits for the policy

Matching and the diagnostic run without a policy. Posting waits until one is set, because the entries depend on it. If your accountant is not in the room, send them the choice (see Ask your accountant).

Versions

Every policy is versioned, with who chose it and when. If the guidance changes, for example when FASB finalises its stablecoin proposal, Gladpaid publishes a new policy version. You see what changed and choose whether to adopt it from a future period. Closed periods are never restated automatically.
